Theme: Developing the Leader Within You
Purpose: To refine students to lead like Jesus through biblical leadership principles and practical application.
⏱ Total Time: 75 Minutes
Recommended Flow
Welcome, Introductions & Prayer (10 minutes)
- Facilitator Introduces Themselves
Share a brief personal intro and leadership journey. Mention how leadership has shaped your walk with Jesus.
- Opening Prayer
Invite the Holy Spirit into the space. Pray over hearts to be open and receptive.
- Icebreaker Question (Optional)
Ask a light but thought-provoking question related to the theme (e.g., “Who’s the most influential leader you’ve encountered and why?”)
Teaching & PowerPoint Presentation (25 minutes)
- Slide Deck Title: (Use assigned content theme as title)
Example: “The Key to Leadership: Priorities”
- Create a Custom Subtitle (Optional)
Make it personal or creative to reflect your specific angle on the theme.
Example: “Living What Matters Most: Leading with Purpose, Not Pressure”
- Teaching Content
- Incorporate relevant scripture
- Share real-life leadership stories/examples
- Tie everything back to how Jesus modeled the principle
- Keep it practical, engaging, and student-minded
- End with 1–2 main takeaways
Group Q&A + Reflection (10 minutes)
- Open the Floor
Prompt 2–3 open-ended questions for students to reflect on or respond to in the group.
- Encourage Vulnerability & Thoughtfulness
Give students space to process or share how the topic connects to their journey.
Student Application Workshop (20 minutes)
- Activity/Challenge
Facilitate a hands-on or discussion-based workshop that helps students apply the teaching.
- Examples:
- “Create your top 3 priorities list for the semester”
- “Write a character commitment statement”
- “Draft your personal growth goal for the next 30 days”
- “Role-play a problem-solving scenario in groups of 3”
- Support with a Slide or Handout if Possible
Keep it simple but impactful.
Closing Prayer & Weekly Challenge (10 minutes)
- Recap the Main Point(s)
Reiterate how this session helps them lead more like Jesus.
- Share the Weekly Challenge
This should align with the week’s theme and stretch them as a leader.
Example: “This week, serve someone without them knowing.”
- **Prayer Over Students: **End in prayer—commission them to go live out the principle, and pray over their leadership walk.
